REIMAGINING THE WHITE SPACE; Bureau Europa, Studio Hyperspace & iArts
iArts embraced the assignment from Bureau Europa to investigate the current state, the relevance for Maastricht and the Euregion, the relation with the audience and the potential of this unique platform for Architecture & Design. In collaboration with Studio Hyperspace and with use of the methods of Desing Thinking and Storyscaping, a team of 3 iArts students, 1 Fine Arts student plus an artist and art-educator from Poland (iArts intern via Erasmus+) dove into this queeste. Guided by Theo Ploeg and Saskia Valk.
Of course, the entrance of Corona in our society and lives has been of great influence; both for the practice of Bureau Europa, our collaboration, but also content-wise: how can a platform like Bureau Europa be of importance and value under these circumstances? iArts decided to take these questions as leading in their research and conceptual development.
This project has led to a couple of artistic proposals; be our guest, you can find them here …

It is our pleasure to announce that Bureau Europa has welcomed these proposals and that the team of Reimaginers has been invited to curate an artistic presentation/expo at Bureau Europa, this summer. We’ll keep you posted!
Designing Life / Designing Dialogue: the Putida Chronicles
The Putida Chronicles is the result of the research studio Designing Life / Designing Dialogue, a collaboration between a group of second year students from MaastrichtAcademy of Interdisciplinary Arts (Zuyd Hogeschool), the research centre for Arts, Autonomy and the Public Sphere (Zuyd Hogeschool) and ‘SafeChassis’, a research project on the microbe Pseudomonas Putida from Wageningen University and Radboud University, in the Netherlands. What started as a research into the dialogical means of immersive theatre and the way of communication in the world of microbiology, turned out to become an online theatre project regarding a tiny microbe with unforeseen possibilities. A story about science, safety and a malleable world. You can visit it at https://theputidachronicles.com.
